Different wood this time
Hi all. My friend in NZ has just told me she has a branch of TOTARA wood and she wants to know if she should send it with the POHUTUKAWA stuff when she gets to it.
Is it a useful wood for turning? I see it is hard and straight grained and suitable for carving so any suggestions. Mind you it might be better to ask when I actually get the stuff.
Still, one of you may know.
Interest only, I just re-joined my local Woodturner's Association after maybe 6 years. What a change, have demos most months - well known names as well - and competitions too. What wonderful work the members produce. I really need to practice more! I'd be ashamed to sit my current work down alongside some of that. Still, early days yet.
regards to all, docusk
