Default Woodfast 280 midi lathe Trail stock issues

I have attached a couple of pictures.
I am having trouble with the tailstock when applying lateral pressure with the hand wheel. As you can see the Circlip keeps popping out any thoughts would be appreciated.

You sent me a PM about this.
Sorry mine is not like yours.

If the circlip keeps coming suggest the following
    - clean out the circlip groove
    - use some circlip pliers to expand the clip
    - replace the circlip.

Yeah, check the groove, also the circlip might be stretched. I see it's an internal circlip what you can do is to gently expand it with the pliers to increase the pressure when locking it into the groove.
