Woodfast Lathe bits
Hey All,
Long time since I've posted here, life does that now and again (
My local Woodturning group has been given some old ex High School Woodfast Lathes, they are in a pretty bad state (been outside for a couple of years) we are planning to refurb them, but they are missing their Tail Stocks and Tool Post banjos, does anyone here, know of any laying around anywhere ???
I have been in touch with Woodfast in South Australia, there is none available from them.

HazzaB,
Tool post banjos can be adapted from other makes even if not so convenient as the original. If you can't find tail stocks, you have bowl lathes.
Cleaning rust from bed ways and other flat surfaces can be done with a single edge razor blade in a stout holder. When the angle is right the rust comes off like a snow plow taking snow off a road.
See: https://www.google.com/#q=practical+...+from+machines
I hope you will be able to resurrect the fine lathes.
I love my old Woodfast short bed.So much timber, so little time.

Real shame as the tool rests and banjos are very well designed. Try machinery / scrap metal dealers. A lathe without a tail stock or banjo bit like a car without wheels?
