Murph, I have the Woodfast M910, known as the Yellow Peril. I have turned 500mm oval shape turning on it and it did not complain. I think the biggest blank I have had is around the 600mm mark. You are limited to about 520mm inboard, 700mm with the outboard table and 2000mm or your gumption outboard, with a separate stand.
I like the ability to start at 50 rpm and work my way up to 3900 rpm over the 5 speed ranges. I normally leave it at pulley 3.
Belt changes take about 10 - 20 seconds, if you take your time, so no issue for me, as a weekend turner.
Solid, reliable and if you buy from Woodfast, good customer service.
Apologies, I do not know anything about the Powermatic, bar it's previous reputation.Pat
