    Default Woodturning Weekend/Demo

Saturday just been I was finally able to arrange another little get together for likeminded people who enjoy the black art of wood turning. It was just a small affair with 6 in the audience but a good time had by all and one was initiated as a new convert.

The demo focused on bowl turning though like any demo some great information that can be applied to any aspect of turning. Our demonstrator known to many was and he put on a fine show.

Part 1 focused on various chucking and holding methods

For those who have seen pics of other events or who have been here before you may be familiar with no shade or little shade sails. This time round I finally secured (in both senses of the word) a decent larger sail

Must admit one of the posts is rather temporary

I'll try and get a few more pics and details of the time posted later today

One of his worst chisels for keeping an edge was this one.

though he did make a point! it's all about the bevel

another point was the 3 45's

and if you watched there was an occasional shaving flying through the air

In fact ... had he stayed another day I would have been right for mulch in the future garden behind him under the pergola
