Yarn Bowl
G'day
At a recent club craft sale, a women asked me if I could make a yarn bowl for her .I'd never made one before, but I said yes .
This is my effort . I found I had a roughed out bowl of jacaranda which I thought would do . I shaped it with about 7mm wall thickens and cut the slot with a coping saw . I then used a cylindrical burr in a dremel to increase the width of the slot then little strips of abrasive to smooth it off . I think there was almost as much work in making the slot as turning the bowl.
The bowl is 120mm x 95mm and is finished with DO .
