    Default Roughcast and Stucco

    Hello,

I have posted this also in the painting section...but perhaps maybe someone who is a renderer may be able to help also...

We have recently finished an extension to our old Weatherboard Californian Bungalow c1918 house.

We have puttied, undercoated with Dulux acrylic 3 in 1 and filled up any overlapping gaps with No More Gaps for Weatherboards.

We would like to match the texture on the new timber boards to the original part of the house. The original house has stucco on its front pillars , and all the weatherboards have small (1-2mm) 'bits' (roughcast?) mixed/scattered throughout the paint- probably gravel, sand, or crushed pebbles.

I've looked at some textured paint samples and none of them are a close match. It really looks like finely crushed pebbles have been mixed with the paint and applied all over the weatherboards.

Can anyone suggest any ideas on how to go about finding a close match , or do I simply add sand/gravel to my topcoats until the right consistency of 'bit frequency' is achieved?

    Thankyou in advance.
