Do strip footings need plastic underneath?
Hi,
Probably a dumb question, since the footing is just what the masonry sits on, but do I have to put plastic under strip footings like you do under a slab?
Best to check before I pour!
Footings are 500x300x4400, with 3F11 trench mesh.
Thanks in advance,
AM

No. Plastic is to stop moisture getting up into the structure, and you would have a dampcourse in you brick to do that function.
