    Default Electric Log Splitters

Has anyone had any experience with this vertical electric log splitter (or something similar)?

From the look of that all the standing around would drive me nuts...
The only one I've had experience with was an Oregon branded hydraulic with a petrol motor. Brilliant, and also $4000.00
The operating lever drove up and down and when released the "axe" stopped. There was no "top point" the axe had to return to, so you could stop just above the log and then cut straight away by pressing the lever down..and the unit stood up so the bottom plate was on the ground, so no lifting at all...

    As per what David said.
Have never used an electric splitter, but those that have claim they are good for kindling.
I use a Dalmore. (No longer made as the owner retired) $4,500 but will take on anything, particularly if you use a bit of bees wax on the blade for the really tight stuff.
That return to full hight would be a pain. Quicker to use a hand splitter.

    Hooroo.

I have a horizontal one which has the same load specification and it has done a lot of work with no issues. it can be stopped at any return point to suit the length of timber being split by setting a stop. I would not be without it these days and the neighbours often borrow it!. It cost about $800 a few years ago IIRC from here...https://www.bbta.com.au
