    Default Steel fence posts?

    Hi guys,

I've just started building my front fence. It's my first fence so I'm sort of making it up as I go. Nothing like everyone on the street being able to see how you screw things up
Anyway, I'm planning on a horizontal decking-type timber fence, with largish (125mm) square fence posts - I want the posts to look as "chunky" as possible. I've seen cypress posts of this size for about $34 for 2.4m lengths. But what I'd really like is steel posts of this size. Does anyone know where in Melbourne I could find them, and what the approximate cost would be?

    thanks in advance!

    Hi Jazz

You can buy 125mm Square RHS and if you go to Smorgans or One Steel you could get it. Don't know the price though but if you give them a ring they will tell you. It come with various wall thicknesses.

    Hi,

Before you proceed with 125 mm RHS steel posts, check the weight out. You may find them too heavy to manouevre.
