Hi Everyone,

I've recently bought a house in Canberra on a respectable 850+m² block, but car parking consists of a 8.5 x 8m area of compacted gravel next to the house. I'm using a supercheap auto temporary carport (with some extra bracing and tiedowns) at the moment to keep stuff off the car, but in the near future (ie. when I've saved enough money ) I'd like to put a 6x8x3 colorbond shed/garage there with a couple of roller-doors on the front and a PA door to the side.

I've had a look at the offerings that most shed suppliers have and I'm not really impressed with what is on offer. Thin cladding and frames and using wall cladding for the roof just makes me squeamish. Not to mention the prices they want to charge...criminal!

What I'm after is a supplier who will sell me a shed that has proper C-section frames and purlins that bolt together. Posts that I can cement into the holes and then pour the slab later to seal it all up. Nice thick cladding (.42 from memory) and corrugated roof sheets. Full length purlins that haven't been cut in half to save shipping costs. I've never had any trouble getting exactly that when I lived in SA, in fact between myself and my immediate family we have bought at least 16 sheds like that. However in Canberra I seem to get the sideways head tilt and "Gee mate, I think that's over doing it. How about you buy our mass produced tin cans instead" *paraphrasing obviously*

In SA we used to buy from Delta engineering when they used to roll their own stuff and made their own kits. Helpful blokes who knew their stuff and knew how to design a plan and engineering spec sheet that the local councils accepted straight away. All I want is someone similar in the Canberra region who won't overcharge me for the privilege. So I'm reaching out here to see if anyone has some recommendations or leads I can use to get what I want.
