I'm getting up to the point of installing the front door.
We need to install a "nice" looking Doggy door and I'm looking for pics and help with the concept.
The photo shows the door from the factory. I hav e purchased the door and the side light.

I was going to cut out the bottom side light and install the doggy door in maple (same as door) and possibly even use and modify the pice I remove to frame up the door.

Weather is nto a problem as the front door is recessed within an alcove about 3m from any rain. I would like it to be draft resistant though to save on energy.

The clear flap side is no problem, but inside I want to have a lockable timber door. 2 options....
a) a liftable slide panel of ply ( I have some left over fijian cedar - but it's 12.5mm (half inch) or thinnner suff - it's only going to be 500x350mm. I could recess this into the mulions/jambs
b) a hinged flip top with a keep tab to hold it up and out of the way when the doggy door is in use....

thoughts/ideas?
