I got the hinge stop from ebay. Works like a charm.

Heavy car doors are also hinge stopped or restricted in their angle of opening at the hinge

I put these stops on all hinges of the same door and precisely adjusted them to exactly the same angle. Now the forces are distributed. Originally Posted by journeyman Mick
