repairing and repainting cedar sliding doors
We have 2 cedar/glass external sliding door units that are in need of a restoration. Tracks need replacing, as will the handles/locks. Previous owner obviously has replaced/changed/added locks over the years so there's a few holes and housed out sections that will need filling. So I wont really get away with a sand and oil. I was going to use builders bog, sand and paint.
I don't know what to use for tracks as the doors will be painted I am concerned about rubbing paint off if the track system is not good.
How can I go about this so I end up with a couple of well finished doors. btw.. replacement costs for these is around $4000 for the two doors so throwing a few hundred at fixing them properly is worth it IMO.
