I am some new floating floorboards installed in a hallway, over the top of existing pine floorboards. This is so that it matches with our 70sqm open plan extension.
I was told that we should re-do the hallway skirting boards, after the floating floors go in so that it looks neater, and the gaps will be hidden by the skirtings.
I figured its also a good opportunity to replace the old style skirtings so that the hallway has modern skirtings like in the extension.

My questions is about what to do around the door frames? I dont want to replace all the door frames (being a hallway, there are 8 of them).
Should I simply cut the skirting board horizontals off, and leave the verticals of the door frames on? And then hope the floor installers do a neat job around the door frames?

Any other suggestions?

I have attached a few photos, showing the old style skirtings which will be removed, and then a photo of the new skirtings that will replace the old.
