Spring-loaded door knobs?
Hi All,
I need to replace some knobs on interior passage doors. I.e., only the knobs, not the whole latch.
I bought one set of these Gainsboroughs from Bunnings: Gainsborough Hardware - Classic Range
They fit ok, but... the Gainsborough knobs are not spring-loaded (unlike the old knobs). Result: there's not enough springiness in the latch mechanism itself to make the latch spring outwards when you release the knob.
I've been unable to find info on the web about possible alternatives similar to the Gainsboroughs in appearance which are spring-loaded. On every website I've looked at they don't even mention spring-loading of the knobs at all, afaict.
Did I simply grab the wrong item in Bunnings, or are they all like that now?
I'm reluctant to start travelling all over Sydney trying to find spring-loaded knobs unless I can be sure they do indeed exist (in a style similar to the Gainsboroughs I linked to above).
Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions.
