Standard size of Australian interior door handle spindles
I'm currently holidaying in Sweden (where I lived for a number of years). Am interested in buying a few sets of these repro mid-century door handles (the wood is teak or oak)

because they'll be perfect for my late 1950s modernist clump in Sydney.
The Swedes use a spindle of 8mm in diameter. Have googled the hell out of it but can find nothing telling me what the Australian standard spindle diameter is. Does anyone know - wouldn't surprise me if there were a few
