I think I may have found borers, advice needed.

Situation is a timber pallet sitting under the house. It has been there for 7 years.

Took the stuff that was stored on the pallet off it and found a LOT of wood dust on the ground. On further inspection this has come from two of the upper pieces of timber (not those on the ground) only, and they have a lot of small pin head sized holes in them. Note that when I say a lot of dust, I mean it's a few mm thick covering the ground below the affected timber.

A check of other timber in the surrounding area finds no apparent problem but I have concerns nonetheless.

I've removed the pallet, have it sitting on the ute at the moment and will take to the tip tomorrow.

Is there anything specific I should do now? Chemicals? Vacuum or otherwise remove the dust?

Termites aren't an issue in Tasmania, at least not that I've ever heard of, so all this timber eating stuff is rather new to me. That they might be borers is just an assumption on my part, as I think the small holes indicate that's what they are?
