Thought I would start a new topic on work you go to fix either done by DIY or supposed "tradies"

Below is one I just went to for a door job, all too familiar scenario I have seen many times before, this was to hang 10 new doors, and all associated hardware, plus patch all old locks on architraves etc.
This one was done by a supposed "Carpenter" with references and been in the trade for 30 Years ?

WOW with that much experience, I would expect a top quality job and should be able to do this one with his eyes closed, as you can see I suspect he did have his eyes closed ,

The client had spend considerable money on purchasing solid doors, this guy not only cannot hinge a door to save his life, but hung them upside down and completed the grand total of 3 doors in one day, no handles just the door's. and made a total mess of the doors, luckily the client kicked him out before he totally destroyed the doors, 30 years experience Bulldust.

The client even went to the trouble of making a Door Schedule, outlining everything from what door went where, handle heights, which lock went on which door, and even a picture of the door (right way up), how you could mess this one up is astounding.

When the client saw the doors, and said they were upside down, the "Carpenter" told him he did not know what he was talking about, and said, well I can flip them if that's what you want !!!

Obviously he knows diddley squat, you cant simply flip the door upside down, because you have cut the hinges into the wrong side of the door you dumbo, obviously does not own a chisel but prefers to butcher the doors freehand with a trimmer.

He was too lazy to trim the doors outside, so did all the cutting inside while the painters were there ??, when asked if he could do that outside the comment was it will take me 3 times as long to do them, so he would have managed to do 1 door a day, AWESOME.

I hate people like this, they give everyone a bad name.
