Depreciation Schedule - Age of Building?
We've recently purchased our first investment property with settlement due mid January. I've got the finger on the pulse of a few tradies should settlement occur on time; we have quite a bit of work to do from replacing carpets, painting, some electrical work...
Has anyone had any dealings with a quantity surveyor that they could recommend? The property is in the "far outer northern suburbs" (i.e. Ballarat) so we'd be looking for someone who can service that area.
Also, any idea how we'd go about finding the build date for the house? I thought it might be in the Vendor's Statement but I haven't been able to find it there. Is this something the local council will have a record of?
