Hi all. We've had this problem for just over a year. Living in Melbourne.Originally the balcony above the bottom front room was leaking water into the front room. We had a company seal the balcony and it has worked well so far but...................at the same time after a drop of rain (which is rare these days) water appears to run off the rendered blue board balcony which juts out over the side driveway and leaves a thick dry residue which stains the car roof and windows. It takes half an hour or more to get the stuff off with metho and vigorous rubbing. (Very frustrating when leaving for work)
I don't know if this is the result of a chemical reaction between the render and rain OR because the base below the sealed balcony tiles is leaking out during rain. It's really weird. The blue board balcony is attached o the timber upper storey and I think the leak comes from this point ( timber beading covers the join).
Initially, over the past winter the problem stopped but we had a sudden downpour last Thursday and I discovered the stain the following morning. It messes with the car's duco.
The house is a 2 year old town house. Any thoughts, ideas, solutions would be greatly appreciated-even a fool proof ,safe cleaning agent for the car.
Hope this post isn't too convoluted.
Thanks in advance
Bertie
