Hi, As the title says I made my own floating shelves but 2 are really twisted. Its actually my own fault because when I picked the piece of timber it already had the most slight twist in it.... reason I chose that one though was it had no knots whatsoever.... It was a piece of treated kiln dried pine 1.2x140x38 I cut up into 4 small shelves of 295mm each.

When I first cut it up into 4 the slight twist was not noticeable at all which is what I expected... however that was about 3 weeks ago and now the twist on 2 of them stands out like you know what.... shame too cause the finished product stained an all came up a treat.

So anyway I know they are a lost cause so I wanna make 4 new ones but am scared to get another piece of pine (even if its straight) in case it twists again.

My question is what timber can I make these shelves out of that is not gonna twist or warp and will basically stay straight. more facts are they will be for a bathroom and I want to stain them to a nice chocolate brown.

Cheers.
