Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how I can secure acoustic batts between floor joists so that they don't sag down over time.

So basically this is what I want to do:

But if I don't secure them they will fall down over time and leave gaps like this:

had to pay through the nose for the acoustic batts so don't want anything to compromise their performance.

I was thinking about the following options:
- some steel wire run across the bottom of the new joists
- 19x19mm pine dar glued to the bottom of the joists every 500mm
- chicken wire stapled to bottom of new joists

Anyone got any other ideas?

Ideally the most secure solution would be to install the batts directly on top of the existing ceiling however the ceiling joists are all different spacings and run at angles so every batt would need to be custom cut.
