Can you offer suggestions for the "best" software that will be compatible with builders/architects professional software and yet have a simple learning curve for me?!

It is my understanding that files in the .dwg format should be compatible with most other software and I have been reading about several packages such as TurboCad, Draftsight, Autocad360 and DesignCad but I have no idea which of these would be the simplest to learn and use or whether there are more suitable alternatives.

I don't think that I need 3D or colour rendering but I would like a good "library" of bathroom/laundry/kitchen fittings and the ability to create room outlines/wall/doors/windows simply and quickly. We will be getting professional support but I would like to be able to pre-plan some options and at a later stage be able to view and modify the professional plans

Cheers, Malcolm
