so we have a a shelf in a our walk-in wardrobe that the mrs has taken over and uses to hang her plethora of clothes from

semi recently the orginal shelf has begun to sag one corner, we had to dodigly prop it up with a broom handle. so i got the rush of blood yesterday to rip it out and start again to see if i could stop the sagging. oringally it was just built out of some 42x18 pine DAR and a few scrap bits of moulding the same size brad nailed to the wall, with a 19mm piece of MDF as a top. dimensions are

the problem i've had is i've glued and screwed 2x pieces of the the 42x18 DAR together and used that as the frame work... but theres quite a bit of give/flex along the front and expecially in the front corner. i'm talking at least 5mm with just pulling on it with 1 arm. none of the joins are actually glued, and it is screwed into the wall using 8g screws 65mm long (about 35mm embedment). the front pieces are joined to wall mounted pieces using pocket hole joins (again no glue)

is there anything i can to do secrure this up before the missus hangs a s*** ton of clothes from it again, to keep her happy we want to avoid having a pole or upright in the middle which is obvious solution. ignore the clamps they're just holding on the facia pieces untill i attach them.

i remember the original not having this much movement in it

pics of what now seems like my shonky work
