    Default Need A New vac

I need a new vac, my 9yr old masters hardware shop vac just isn't cutting it.
H/N have this one, it's the most I can afford to spend, Vax used to be a gun brand, I'm guessing pet spec means better and it seems to come with a good range of doo-dads.
Has anyone got one, is it any good?
Failing that, recommendations for something decent around the same price would be appreciated although I'm restricted to Bigw & H/N unless I want a 100k drive.
    Cheers

I have one of those, however I have only owned it for about 8 hours, bought it today

Obviously I can’t give more than a first impression. We have a Dyson for the house and I bought this for cleanup in the workshop. It seems pretty powerful, canister is simply emptied much like the Dyson. It has a Hepa filter so that should reduce the nasties. The extension pole seems better than the Dyson but the flex hose seems a bit average and it would be great if it was a foot or 2 longer. Overall first impressions are it seems like it’s pretty good for the money.

I'd be worried about the small capacity of those as a shop vac.

I reckon you'd be netter off with something like this
Ryobi 1400W 25L Pro Wet & Dry Vacuum - Bunnings Australia
    25L capacity
Can attach and auto start vac using a power tool up to 1000W
    5M long hose
    Can do liquids
Can be used as a small leaf blower
Auto filter cleaning - well more like able to clean filter without opening up the vac.

Jesse I might even get one myself - the old Ryobi I found by the side of the road >10 years ago is showing its age.

    .
Whilst the capacity is small I think the benefits of a barrel style vac outweigh the negatives significantly compared to canister vacs. Yes you need to empty more often, but you can see when they are full and emptying them couldn’t be easier.

With that Ryobi style that I have owned similar in the past, you invariably don’t realise it’s full until you have suction problems, at which point you open it up, the filter and bag are buried in dust and when you pull the top off you make a mess where you have just cleaned. That my experience anyway.

    Cheers Andrew
