Thread: what vacuum filter to get? hepa or Cellulose?

Without knowing what grade HEPA filter it is no valid comparison can be made.

The H/M/L class filters are defined as

• Class ‘L’ – Dust represents a moderate risk to the operators – The vacuum’s filters trap over 99% of the dust with a grain size of under 2 microns
• Class ‘M’ – Dust represents a medium risk to the operators – The vacuum’s filters trap over 99.9% of the dust with a grain size of under 2 microns
• Class ‘H’ – Dust represents a high risk to the operators – The vacuum’s filter traps over 99.995% of dust with a grain size of under 1 micron which includes carcinogenic dusts and dusts contaminated with pathogens

Anyone can label something as "HEPA" but that label is meaningless unless accompanied by the HEPA efficiency spec.
Most true HEPA filter efficiencies are speced at 0.3 microns with the lowest efficiency being 99.5%, Highest efficiency is typical 99.997%

True HEPA filters that are 99.5% efficient at 0.3 microns are usually 10X more efficient at 1 micron and above.

just had a look at what is in there right now, it is the one linked above the hepa filter at 0.3 microns written on the side.
probably best to get another hepa one then hey??
