    Default my first 2 boxes

My wifes 40th prompted me to put aside several project guitars and turn to the boxes.

Here they are. Huon & QLD Red Cedar. Paua shell inlay. Barrel hinges 5mm epoxy glued. Royal Blue Flocking and Paint. Joints are mitre key and box making bit (CMT). Finish is Tru-Oil 20 coats. The buttoms are just glued (no joint).

    Constructive criticism/comments encouraged.

Aren't keyed mitre joints gorgeous? I love them. The paua shell really sets them off. Well done.

The shell inlay is very striking! Love the contrasting colours in the timber. Mitre keys have to be my favourite box join I reckon.

    Hi Bjsa,

What they all said. Top job. Also like the shell inlay.

And the old Triton table is quite capable.

    Cheers
