Thoughts on 2nd Hand Robland Combo machine
Hi guys,
I'm a newbie to the forums and only really just finding my feet in the whole woodworking space.
I'm at the stage where I need to replace my cheapie table saw for a "proper" model and I've been shopping around for ideas. The local guild newsletter has a 2nd hand Robland K26 combo saw/spindle moulder/planer-thicknesser and mortiser for sale.
I really need a new table saw and a thicknesser and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with these machines?
many thanks
Warwick

Hi Warwick, I inherited a combination, saw, lathe, jointer etc, nearly 40 years ago and found it award and difficult to set up and use, have had no regrets selling it soon after.
My advice would be to gradually purchase individual machines to suit your need...unless you are really stuck for space, but you can overcome this by having every thing on wheels.

Thanks Kcam, I really do have a space issue so I thought I'd give this a go. Its a pretty good price and I've had a demo of it and it seems to work ok.
Wish me luck!

If you have had a demo you are aware of all the individual operations, make sure that you get all the parts that go with it such as guards etc. I am not familiar with the Robland combo.I can't remember the name of the combo that I had and at that stage I neither had the time or keen interest in woodworking other than the basics........good luck, I am sure that you will get a lot of enjoyable years from its use.....KC
