Alder box
Last year my neighbours had to have some alder trees removed. They had sentimental value, having been a gift from their parents when they first moved into the house decades ago. I kept a small log and made a box from the timber. Awful stuff to work with. Light weight, and prone to twisting and warping. I persisted, and came up with this. Not my best work, but well received nonetheless.

Boxes with a back story are always the best, no matter how hard they are to make or how good/bad you think they look.

It's got character, like the rest of us . I like it and it's hand made, not store bought. More people should have a hobby where they actually produce something.
Well done.
Cheers
