An American Oak Floorboard
One of my mates son recently completed a major home renovation and part of the work carried out was to lay a beautiful American Oak floor throughout the foyer, living , kitchen and rumpus areas. He is a perfectionist and the resulting floor using the 150 mm wide boards was just outstanding.
He gave me a short left over board on the weekend and I was able to make two identical boxes. One box is for him and one I shall keep.
I used banksia nut again for contrast and fitted black acrylic dowels. The Oak is finished to 1200 grit with Scandanavian Oil and then waxed. The result is a very tactile box.And my head I'd be a scratchin'
While my thoughts were busy hatchin'
If I only had a brain.
