Default First attempt at carved jewelry box ( but I cheated)

    Hey guys,

This is a wedding present I made over the last couple of months, it is QLD walnut, with a rose mahogany top bit. I used a dremel for most of the carving, ( used paring chisels to tidy up the corners ect)

I still have to make the small box to slide on the brass inside the box, but I ran out of time( I made the drawer lock mech out of an old plaque I found, and a spring from bunnings) the box isn't overly hard but did do the dovetails by hand)

The Handle is carved into the front as you can see, and have my wife's new initials on the lid. ( her middle name is rose)

Finished with 4 coats of cabinetmakers wax, applied with steel wool and buffed with Cotton rag.

Cheers thanks for looking, and tell me your opinions)

Cheating would be a CNC, using a dremel isn't

Nice. I like the pull out draw, it gave me an idea for my next project.
