Default Australian Red Cedar & Silver Ash jewellery boxes

These are the latest jewellery boxes from the workshop, made from recovered ARC supplied by the client, and Qld Silver Ash. The hinges are from Aldav. It's the first time I've used them, and I'm very happy with them.

A beautiful box as usual Alex. How did you shape the top panel, or was it thin enough to bend into a groove?

The lid frame sides and panels were built up from 3 x 3mm laminates that were glued up over a form.

Very nice boxes as usual, Alex. Love the coved lids. How big are the boxes? How thick is the material in the front/back sides? I'm guessing 11mm? There doesn't appear to be too much left at the side of the hinges.

The boxes are 280mm x 230mm x 180 over all. the walls are 10mm thick. Because there is so little material between the hinge and the outside I use superglue when I finally set the hinges.
As I said above, I found the hinges excellent, all fitted nicely thanks.
