bandsaw & drop saw ring box

hi i made this ring box - first time making something like this so go easy.
it's my second thing i've made this year... well... second thing i've made in about 5 years.

box is made from marble-wood (purchased because of it's marble like look... kinda looked a bit purple before finishing).

Fairly simple to put together (although i still managed to almost lose a finger doing it!).

Coated with estapol, then orange oil

Lined with satin.

any improvements i can do to it now?
(NOTE: IN THE NEAR FUTURE WOULD BE MORE USEFUL...)

wow the photos really make my handywork look rubbish. trust me it looks a lot softer in real life...

I like it. It works for me by offering a very solid and secure container for something that must be very precious. I think it is likely to be picked up and handled fairly frequently. The lining is very nice too. Is it just one hinge, or are there two there under the lining?

it's just got one hinge.
the hinge was slightly recessed using a chisel.

Hi again everyone. I'm planning on giving this box away soon, and want it looking nice. Any advice on how to make it a little bit shinier? I've currently finished it with a few coats of estapol, then some orange oil.
