Birdseye Blackwood Boxes
Hi all, I've been a bit quiet on this forum lately. I purchased some Birdseye Blackwood recently and finally got around to using it in a box. The entire box (both of them), is made from Australian Blackwood.
Let's see how the pics turn out.

Great joinery!!!
My only negative thought is that the lid border has a mix of different colours. This detracts from the birdseye inset.

Thanks for your comments. The Blackwood definitely does have a mix of colours. That's just how this timber is I guess. I wanted to keep the entire box in blackwood
Thanks again, Paul

Very nice Paul I was going to ask if you had done something to 'age' bits the timber but your last post explains the variations. Gives it a nice 'antique' effect
