Lovely box, Rod.
For the ring runs I use 6mm foam wrapped over the top of a piece of 4mm MDF. Double sided tape to the MDF so in profile it looks like an upside-down letter U. Then covered in suede. Putting three of these side by side gives you two long ring runs that do not move about.
Thanks for the photos.

I will try for some better photo's woodpixel, Alexs the suggestion was not mine but from the forum somewhere I am sure. I have to again thank TasSculptor Jason for the beautiful Tiger Myrtle for the lid panel you are correct it is spectacular.

Spectacular timber in that box. Makes a Radiata Pine box look very ordinary, doesn't it!
Great work, well worth experimenting with photographs.

Really great stuff, Rod. The dovetailed corners almost give it a refracted look. Like you're looking through moving water or something. That probably sounds weird, but it's just what I thought of...
Love the lid too. And the handle... and the inside...

Rod if you remember that suede board that you got off me, you can peel the suede from the card.

Hi Col,
I didn't realize you could do that I have used some of that card just recently in another box I have been working on I shall post some photos when we get back home in a few days.
Yes Luke the flow of the grain around the dovetails did come out quite well it is a great look.
Thanks for all the posts.
Regards Rod.Rod Gilbert.
