Book boxes
Last year, Bill Bunbury was commissioned to write a book on the history of hydrography in WA. It was released at our conference last year, and attendees received a copy. I've done a couple of presentation boxes, one the author and one for me. If anyone else wants one, they will be for sale.
The boxes are made of WA jarrah, are velvet lined with magnetic closures and are finished with Kunos oil.

Beautiful Boxes. They look fantastic. Nice timber, love jarrah !!
Had a quick look at your website, you have some very nice items there, especially your cabinets. The Tas myrt and blackwood bedside tables caught my eye. Nice.

I presume that the "spines" are held in place with tiny rare earth magnets?

Love it. Beautiful wood. Nicely done.
“When we build, let us think that we build forever. Let it not be for present delight nor for present use alone. Let it be such work as our descendants will thank us for; and let us think...that a time is to come when those (heirlooms) will be held sacred because our hands have touched them, and that men will say, as they look upon the labor and wrought substance of them, ‘See! This our father did for us.’ “ --John Ruskin. Audels Carpenters and Builders Guide, 1923 Theo Audel & CO. New York.

Beautiful work Alex. I presume you used a router to do the text, but what did you use as templates?

Alex - does that mean you have found a laser engraver in Sydney that will do very small run stuff (i.e. < 5 pcs)?
I presumed the text was lasered - if it had been done with a router, my mouth would have been hanging open even further.....
Considering the amount of work that has clearly gone into these, the price is very reasonable indeed !
