My first box is the best so far
I have just finished my first box and I'm impressed with myself the box is made from New Guinea Walnut for the case and Yellow Walnut for the lid and base

I'd be damned pleased with that box too, if it were mine. Very nice.

Blue,
This might be your first box, but I'm pretty sure your not new to woodworking.... Dovetails, wow, and walnut to die for. Fabulous box, well done!

Thanks, blue, for telling us about the Gifkins as I was about to ask. Glad you found it helpful as I am saving for one!
Would you tell me how you did the rebates, please, and if you bought in the two woods ?
Congratulations on a beautiful-looking box.

old farmer
A friend let me use his jig and now i want one. Roger Gifkin does a set of router bits for box making i think its called box making set 1. If you are going to get his jig get the bits at the same time the two go hand in hand. The wood i got from thin timbers in Gympie when they were down in Taree at the woodworking Expo earlier this year.
