Another new box,..!
Hi all, once again I wanted to share another new box idea. I really love the way this turned out. An experiment, just need to fine tune it a tad, the making of the lid that is. And I am very impressed, had a go at making my own beeswax polish, turned out very nice indeed. Buffs up lovely on top of my own blend of danish oil.

A nice design and the idea of the three dimensional lid adds extra "oomph" to the overall look!!

Doesn't matter how much I look at it I can't make my eyes see the top as flat!!! - I'm sure it is but I just can't see it Top job Paul Very effective.

Thanks Gentlemen, and yes it is very deceiving, must be my photography, but I do agree with you. However trust me, it if very flat indeed. That was my first attempt at that, learnt from a couple of very very minor mistakes. Like lining the angles up perfectly before the glue dries. The lid insert is about 9mm in thickness.

Hi there Alex, and sorry it took me a few days to reply. I've been away for a few days over visiting MIL in a nursing home at Tamworth. I've actually started to build another identical box to that one, the first one is already sold. Here is a link to some pretty good instructions which I followed. I made mine about 20mm wide by about 10mm thick. The quick and dirty instructions on how to make a zig-zag pattern cutting board. - by ganders @ LumberJocks.com ~ woodworking community Regards, Paul
