    Do you use the same timber as the sides for the base ?

    Yes. The sides, drawer and base are celery top. I hadnt used celery until recently but it is becoming my favourite plain timber. It has a very nice tight neat grain visible when cut on the quarter.

    Yes. The sides, drawer and base are celery top. I hadnt used celery until recently but it is becoming my favourite plain timber. It has a very nice tight neat grain visible when cut on the quarter.
    ...and it's nice and stable. Excellent for drawer sides and nice to work with.
