My Newest Box
This is the box I just completed for another friend who liked the Lacewood and Bubinga. I routed a cross in the top for her. This was my first time to try box joints other than practice joints.
It was also my first time to use hinges and as you can see I still have some work to to do those. I may still take the hinges off and try to do a better job with them before christmas. Heck, I still have some work to do on all I do but with you guys as inspiration I hope to get there.

Very nice box! I like that combination of wood. I too have held off doing hinges and you did well I think for your first shot it looks like. Lots of experts here to give you pointers! Did you mortice them out totally by hand?

Very pretty. I, too, have issues with hinges. They take practice and patience but with both you will have them perfect in no time seeing how the rest of your works look.
