Time for something a bit more elegant now

don't know why, there were plenty of visual cues, but in my mind I was seeing a box around half the size of the actual piece.

    all the best to Elsa
I don't think you ever said whether she's a grandaughter or the child of friends

    Hi Ian,
The pics are a bit deceptive, Elsa is still only 8 months old and makes the box look bigger than it is. Most of my boxes, (eg 'an oldie but a goody' and 'box for bubs') are also document boxes and so the inside dimensions are large enough to take A4 papers. From memory, Elsa's box is 230mm x 340mm.
Elsa is the daughter of a young man I work with who is on a 2 year posting from Sweden. He and his partner decided to have their baby in Australia rather than go home and I was so impressed by that, and fearful that she may forget her birthright, that I made this box for her to take through life and be a constant but gentle reminder of the beautiful country of her birth. I think it's working......!

Nice way of including the Swedish link in the design.

Dammit! I'm still cheesed that I missed the opportunity to fondle this box at BM GTG MkII.

Great work Al, the bub will come to love and cherish it!

With Alan's permission I'm adding the photos from the Katoomba GTG where a few people were admiring his magnificent handiwork,
or should I say enjoying a master class by a Master Craftsman....
    Cheers, Crowie
