Great box Zenwood, the knob looks a little 'heavy' to me, but the box itself is excellent. I like the spacing of the splines too, they raise the eye to the lid where the recesses in the ends of the lid do the rest to take the eye to the knob. Well done!

Well done mate. As disccussed a little while ago on this board, the thin sides really make a huge positive difference.

Zenwood ... I also think it is a great looking box. Is the felt lining glued in ... if so, just with PVA or some other secret?

Groggy: possibly the knob is a tad heavy. Maybe think of it as a handle rather than a knob.
Zoot: the lining is folded over a plywood base, and glued underneath (see pic). Corners folded underneath are cut to rough mitres. The underneaths of the bases (of the box and tray) are stained black.
