    Default New Box Making toy

OK,...since we've started a little thread about Christmas toys, and mine was boxed until today, here's what the missus gave me to make new boxes on. Sweet.........and I don't usually use that term
And to keep the BoxMaking Thread police happy, I placed on it a box made from a couple years ago. Mahagony, Birds-Eye Maple and Walnut. Three way miter corners on the edge banding.

yes, nice piece of kit.....soooo, who has got the nuts to test it out with a real finger? :suicide:
Surely they can pay someone handsomely to do it?
The proof would surely dramatically boost sales figures?

Man that is a nice saw. I had never even heard of that brand but I watched the video and am amazed. I work with a guy that has heard of it. He held up his hand and he is missing part of one finger that he sawed off with his table saw.

It sure seemed like that blade in the video went down really fast. You need to get a weiner and test it like in the video and let us know if it really works. I'm amazed.

    Congratulations. That's a Christmas present.

I put my finger into a triton 60t blade last year. Could have used that. I wonder if the reaction time is affected by different tooth numbers.

It's supposed to be pretty darn quick. 10 times faster than an air bag on a car. But I hope to never try it out as it ruins a blade and the brake mechanism when activated.

To be nice to my moderator and our boxmaker friends; Moderator; please move this thread to the tool section if you want as i kind of didn't intend it to be a Sawstop thread.

Just been watching some more of the videos of SS here, but no where do they mention that you have to replace your saw blade as well as the cartridge when the mechanism is triggered?
I have read a bit about it on SMC forum and I think the blade is usually always visibly damaged (teeth broken off), if not structurally compromised enough for it to be deemed too risky to re-use.

I guess it is still a small price to pay if it saves you lopping off 4 of your precious digits.
Check out the first video....dude cut off 3 1/2 fingers
