Default Latest Box - Wooden Hinges

Well what a journey this one was! In between making a bed, a plaque, 3 coffee tables etc etc.

Beefwood and Budgeroo with pig skin base.
    Regards

This is outstanding. Love the wooden hinges, but I like most of all, the accented corners. Very unique!

    cheers

Thanks Wendy, I kept chaging the corners as I mucked it up. Result is pleasing.

Did you use the Hinge Crafter to make the hinges, or do you have another way to make them? I currently have two boxes ready for hinges, and I really want to try my hand at the wooden hinge. I have the Hinge Crafter and Incra set-up for my Router Table, still trying to figure all of that out.

There is a Hinge Crafter!!!!! Now you tell me. No I designed them myself and hand made them. I didn't want to see the pin so it is internal.

Really nic3e box! Kinda makes my last effort look sad, Wanted to ask, when you did teh edge around the top did you spline the corners or what? Every time I've tried to do mortice trim like that my corners are never stable.
Cajunpen, there is a post somewhere on this site (don't know the link) that has detailed hinge making info called "The Best of the Best". Very good threads, check it out.

No there are no splines. I am an anvocate of TiteBond3 glue I have found it simple to use, water clean up and it sticks like GLUE!
