A Few New Boxes
Here are a few new boxes that I have just finished. Some are based on Roger Gifkins designs, one is from Freedman's book, and the rest are just simple boxes.
The box at the back is made from huon pine with a wenge top and base. The wenge base has huon pine dividers while the larger pine box has camphor dividers. Finish is U-Beaut dewaxed white shellac followed by EEE applied with 0000 steel wool.
The box against the wall is Vic Ash with American wallnut lid, legs and inlay. Finish is Organoil Danish oil followed by natural wax.
The two front boxes are of the same design with camphor inlay lids. The boxes are Vic Ash ends with one having American wallnut sides and the other having Jarra sides. Finish is Organoil Danish oil followed by natural wax.
The remaining three simple boxes are all made from camphor. Two lids are from spalted sassafras with American wallnut handles, while the remaining lid is from blackwood. finish is dewaxed shellac, EEE, and natural wax.Bob

If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."

Wow! Lovely work. The Walnut and Victorian ash - the ash actually looks like Huon - sorry, not saying it is huon of course just that the walnut makes the V.Ash look whiter than what I'm used to and it looks magnificent.
Yum - Sassafras!!!

Some of the best looking boxes I've seen. Love to see more pics, closeups etc.
Looks like you could open a craft stall with that lot. Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.
