Out of Control
This box was going to be a simple box in which to store my router bits. I had picked up some Merbau rather cheaply from Bunnings and had never worked with this timber before - either for its main use (outdoor hardy stuff) of for anything else. Also, I had never made finger joints and thought I'd give it a go.
Things got 'out of control' and the box evolved into something completely different from the initial intended idea.
After joining stock and cutting other bits down - with the attendant risk of cutting small and narrow pieces on my Triton (soon to be replaced) - the box contains 39 separate pieces.
All the imperfections were intentional to ensure originality .
Wish I had some of the mortice hinges JohnC used!

From what I can see it looks great but the pictures are a wee bit on the small side to see properly.

Looks great. Don't you just love it when plans go astray?

A box of the finest kind there is. Yes, the pics seem a bit smallish, I would have loved to see a bit better how that merbau grain goes there.
