    Default Coupla Boxes

Here is a couple of boxes I have made for people recently.

This one was made for a friend to give to her nephew for his 18th birthday. WA Peppermint sides, camphor base and Tas Mirtle burl top.

This one is for my sister, WA Peppermint sides, camphor base and lacy sheoak top. The insert, which can come out, is also camphor.

    Enjoy

Hi Gazaly, those are neat little boxes. I like how the lid is section and wraps like that. What is the WA Peppermint, is it known as something else? Haven't heard of that before. I like the design of the B-card box as well. Nice work.

Well done son. I noticed the absence of those accursed hinges. The grain in that timber speaks for itself. Does all of your WA timber have that wonderful red glow or do you take photographs at sundown?
    Great work.

Very nice little boxes. The woods, of course, are beautiful. And the joinery for the 1st one is very creative!

    Thanks djs,

Your suggestion made me undertake a search of Eucalyptus foecunda that lead me to this website:

    http://www.warrenvalleynursery.com.au/information1.htm

It gives WA Peppermint as Agonis flexuosa, with a description that makes sence with what the guy I bought it from told me.

Thanks heaps for the input though, never would have found it without it

    Cheers

You betcha! I think I'll make nothing but small boxes from now on, just to avoid installing the bloody things .

Nah, its just the glow from the big glass of SA red at the end of a great shed session .
