What sizes are they?

They're both about 320 high. The 1st one is 160 x 160, and the 2nd is 200 x 200.

Used Livos Ardvos oil over shellac. They could do with a couple more coats.

The course was great Alex, I learnt alot.
Iv'e actually just ordered some of the Kunos oil and can't wait to give it a go.

Alex, I have often wondered, but not game to ask, how you fix the legs to the boxes , and hold them while they glue, assuming they are also glued.

I first pondered this when I saw your Miscellany box on your website.

I had to think long & hard before I got it right, Dengue.
First, do it without glue to make sure it's right. Each leg is numbered to match a corner of the box. I know they should all be interchangeable, but...
Clamp a couple of spacers, both the same width, onto opposite sides of the box, so that they line up with the top of the box. With the box inverted (you'll need to use a stand, because the clamps are in the way), tape the legs in place, so that they are up against the spacers. Put a flat piece (MDF) on the inverted legs to make sure they are all the same length. If a leg is too long, take a bit off on the sander or using a block plane.
When you're happy, Glue each leg in place, tape it and when they're all in place, wrap a strip cut from old inner tube around them to hold them in place. Don't pull it too tight, just wrap it around a few times.
This will tend to pull the legs down the sides of the box, so turn the box the right way up, and put a weight inside it, so that the legs are held against the spacers. The weight mustn't be so heavy that the the spacers are moved or the legs get splayed.

I hope this is clear, several glasses of wine always help me clarify my thoughts.
