Cutlery Box ideas
Hi All
I have been sketching ideas for a Cutlery Box for some time now and recently I saw a pair of impressive ones in a London antique shop.
Does anyone have some more ideas or suggestions to help me along.
Attached is a pic of the type of thing I have in mind.
It is to sit on a sideboard (Red Bean) beside the dining suit ( Tas Myrtly).
The knives, forks, etc, are placed in slots in the top of the box - Knives have the handles exposed but I think the rest with have the fork prongs, spoon end exposed.
It will either have a lid or rotates into the box so that they can be covered.
Construction will be by routing grooves in a series of boards them glueing them together.
A sloping top seems the go, so you can display the 'silverware'.
The outside will be curved or otherwise shaped, then probably veneered.
Ideas, size?, plans?, other? all welcome.Scally
